Global Merchandising Manager, Women's - The Underwear Group

The Manager of Global Merchandising is responsible for the execution of Calvin Klein women’s underwear and sleepwear across North America, Europe & Asia. He/she ensures that product meets the specific global and regional merchandising objectives. This position works directly with the regional merchandising teams in order to receive and deliver critical product needs by region so that global strategy meets the needs of the global community. 

Using strong collaborating and influencing skills, this position serves as the lead "conduit" between the global design team and the individual region(s). Through data driven analysis and seasonal recapping (with support and input from the regional teams), he/she ensures that product meets specific merchandising objectives, revenue targets and goals. This position ensures that product lines are brought to market timely, profitably, and in accordance with the line plans and production calendars.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB: 

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders; influence and drive to consensus all short and long range merchandising strategies and objectives for the underwear and sleepwear categories.
  • Ensure the successful implementation of merchandising strategies by providing information and direction to design and technical teams. 
  • Follow the product development calendar - directly responsible for managing team and personal adherence to the critical deadlines
  • Partner with the regional teams on all key milestones to feed into global line plans, product assortments and market support.
  • Manage all product development tools/templates.  Ensure seasonal  projections and bookings are available and accurate.
  • Support manager in performing seasonal hindsight analysis in order to help inform the line planning and product development process.  
  • Partner with sourcing team on sample tracking, proto reviews and salesmen sample review process.
  • Oversee late add calendar, late add requests, follow up and communication. 
  • Collaborate with design and product development partners to meet costing targets on all products developed seasonally. 
  • Bring market perspective to the design and product development process by thoroughly understanding the regional nuances to inform product decisions.
  • Partner with regional teams, global marketing and packaging  to ensure all product attributes are accurately captured and all packaging requirements are followed.  

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience: 5-7 years of product development/merchandising experience

        

Education: Bachelor’s degree in merchandising or equivalent

Skills: 

  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
  • Strategic thinker who recognizes opportunities and can influence decision makers to move to execution
  • Strong product sense with proven experience in driving product assortments and partnering with Design to conceive product concepts that drive business
  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Highly proficient in excel.
  • High level of analytical skills and conceptual creative ability
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Global perspective with International market experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel when necessary
