FREELANCE MERCHANDISE ASSISTANT - NYC

Salary: $14 - $17/hr DOE

Position Overview: The Freelance Merchandise Assistant will support the Chief Merchant and the Merchandising Team in creating the seasonal assortments from concept to delivery.  The Freelance Merchandise Assistant is responsible for ensuring the timely execution of each stage of the process.

Responsibilities:

  • The Freelance Merchandise Assistant is responsible for owning season assortment planning, line development and merchandise selection
  • Will enter PO’s and manage the replenishment systems
  • Analyze sales and customer trends and make adjustments to maximize the business
  • Edit and rank assortment
  • Build Merchandise Boards
  • Experience with Ecommerce and Brick and Mortar
  • Run selling reports and analyze to identify best and slow sellers; Review with team to determine how information should be interpreted and reacted to
  • Ensure all information and samples are set up and organized for easy access by all team members
  • Executing seasonal purchase order creation
  • Identify merchandising opportunities by reviewing recaps and analyzing last year’s business and current trends.
  • Driving and managing the seasonal set up of merchandising tools

Qualifications:

  • The Freelance Merchandise Assistant must possess excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to interface with a  diverse group
  • Minimum 1 year experience or internship
  • Advanced Excel Skills (Pivot Tables & V-Lookup)
  • Proficient in systems: PLM, Blue Cherry, AS400, or SAP (a plus but not mandatory)
  • Ability to take direction and perform problem solving tasks as needed
  • Strong initiative, ownership and accountability for business
  • Ability to react quickly with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to multi task in the environment

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
