FREELANCE MERCHANDISE ASSISTANT

This established contemporary fashion brand specializes in women and menswear. This company is rapidly expanding throughout the United States looking for a potential candidate that wants to grow their career starting as a Freelance Merchandise Assistant.   

Position Overview: 
The Freelance Merchandise Assistant will work closely with the head merchandiser and buying team to project sales and trend analysis efforts for the Spring 2016 collection.  This role requires strong organization, planning.  An aptitude for picking up computer systems is a must along with the ability to be a team player.  Additionally must be excel proficient.
 
Responsibilities: 

• Manage and organize product samples
• Complete seasonal projects for merchants
• Aid buying team in analysis for future production
• Maintain reports and tools, as needed by merchant team
• Plan and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and efficiency
• Demonstrate ability to be financially responsible in project management
• Work closely with the marketing team to address media needs
• Run reports dependent upon the needs of the merchant team

Qualifications: 

• 4 year degree preferred
• Have a proactive work ethic
• Ability to identify priorities with a sense of urgency
• Experience with retail is a plus
• The Freelance Merchandise Assistant needs to have professional experience and be proficient in Excel including V Look Ups and Pivot Tables
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Passion for working in a creative environment

Education Requirements: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising or a related field is preferred
