FREELANCE FASHION EMAIL COPYWRITER

Top Fashion Company in Columbus, OH is looking for a Freelance Copywriter.

The Email Copywriter will develop digital copy in support of strategic email objectives.

In crafting email copy, she or he will work with the Copy Manager, as well as the Marketing and Merchandising teams to:

• Improve overall customer experience
• Drive customers to the site as well as stores for: daily promos, special events, shopping experiences, and seasonal gift ideas
• Write clever, on-trend copy for daily emails, branded emails, as well as subject lines

Responsibilities:

• Write compelling, consumer-focused copy while adhering to brand standards
• Deliverables include: headlines, taglines, promotions and special events, and engaging subject lines
• Follow creative briefs
• Proofread copy
• Collaborate with the Copy Manager, Copywriters, Art Directors and Designers, as well as other members of the Marketing and Merchandising teams
• Partner with Marketing teams to align campaign objectives and goals
• Partner with the Strategy team on brand objectives

Qualifications:

• Experience writing copy for advertising or retail
• Experience with writing email and subject line copy
• Exceptional writing, grammar, editing and proofreading skills
• Strong conceptual thinking with excellent execution
• Ability to articulate ideas, concepts and visual direction
• Must be self-motivated and organized
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure of tight deadlines
• Ability to follow copy and brand guidelines
• Adept at working both independently and collaboratively
• Meet ongoing deadlines

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism or equivalent creative experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in copywriting
• Minimum of 2-3 years experience in UX/UI copywriting
• Proficient in using a Mac
• Basic proficiency in Google Docs and Excel spreadsheets
• Portfolio of writing samples required
