FREELANCE BUYER / PURCHASING AGENT - Junior

Top fashion company in San Francisco, CA is looking for a freelance Assistant Buyer.

 

The Assistant Buyer will 

  • Partner with Buying Manager to build seasonal strategies and manage financial success by meeting sales and margin goals.
  • Represent divisions/brand and present a point of view in business meetings.
  • Recap and analyze actual sales results to plan, and forecast in-season sales on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Identify risks and opportunities to business and recommend strategies to achieve financial goals.
  • Partner with Buying Manager thru seasonal photo planning processes. Align with global online merchandising team on key messages and create market appropriate exclusive messages in partnership with marketing team.
  • Assist with web management to create a compelling product experience on the site, to include inspirational merchandise presentation, simple and intuitive category navigation, and clear and accurate product details.
  • Approve photography and update sorts.
  • Strong organization skill and able to create processes when surrounded by ambiguity.
  • Understand product trends, historical data and departmental input at category/class level in order to manage in-season opportunities or risks.
  • Understand competitive environment; proactively seek market knowledge through exposure to competitive retail outlets.
  • Partner with Manager in developing performance and individual career goals.
  • Prioritize and set expectations around key deliverables with cross-functional team and peers.
  • Refresh website and update sorts.
  • Manage QA for emails to ensure appropriate linking strategy & product stock

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree of equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of retail buying experience.
  • Experience as an Assistant Merchandiser, Assistant Buyer, or equivalent.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills are must.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Possess a working knowledge of financial measurements.
  • Demonstrate a point of view about product assortment and business opportunities.
  • Maintain a cooperative team environment that promotes high performance standards and attainment of goals.
  • Demonstrate strong listening, verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Customer oriented.
