FREELANCE ASSISTANT BUYER - $15-17/hr - NYC

Our client, one of the world’s leading luxury fashion companies is seeking a driven Assistant Buyer to join their established team. Founded on excellence, the company now offers a wide-range of high quality products manufactured with the greatest attention to detail. Their men’s apparel, women’s apparel and accessories lines are sold in high-end department, e-commerce and specialty stores nationwide.

Salary/Hourly Rate: $15-$17/hr

Position Overview: Our client is a globally recognized fashion retail and e-commerce company in search of an Assistant Buyer to support their e-commerce and retail teams.

Responsibilities: 

• The Assistant Buyer ensures timely delivery of merchandise through consistent communication and follow-up with vendors and distribution centers
• Manages and projects markdowns
• Manipulates spreadsheets and reports to complete thorough business analysis
• Analyzes sales performance and makes recommendations to maximize sales
• Understands target customer by store
• The Assistant Buyer communicates regularly with stores using the appropriate communication channels
• Communicates regularly with vendor and merchant community to achieve department goals
• Assists in buying responsibilities once buyer determines proficiency
• Responsible for all data and PO entry
• The Assistant Buyer maintains the organization of the fashion closet

Qualifications: 

• Must live in NY area
• Must have strong Excel skills utilized within a business setting, experience with pivot tables and V-lookups
• Candidates should be able to prioritize and maintain a high level of accuracy doing multiple tasks in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Extremely high attention to detail
• Must have strong analytical and computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet applications
• Must have a great attitude and a strong passion for fashion and love to work in fast paced environment
• Roll-up-your-sleeves attitude

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree required
