Visual Manager in Training | Roles & Responsibilities
Reports To: Visual Manager & Assistant Visual Manager
Objective:
To create a unique, innovative and inspirational customer experience; encompassing the Free People lifestyle and brand image, while maintaining all store operations and goals, resulting in driving sales and insuring the profibility of the store.
- The primary responsibility of the MIT/MMIT is their own training and development.
- Complete entire Management Development Program/Training Plans Set.
- Schedule weekly merchandising training sessions with the Visual Manager.
- Assist with the implementation of merchandising and display objectives.
- Serve as a proactive mentor, teacher and problem solver for the sales team.
- Set a positive leadership example others aspire to.
- Gain proficiencies in the following areas:
- MOD,
- Store operations and closing functions,
- Store Operations,
- Assist in creating and maintaining the store communication boards utilizing weekly Home Office communication.
- Adhere to all 'Typical Day' guidelines.
- Review and maintain a resource library of training tools.
- Perform all sales functions.
- Facilitate the zones of the floor based on business needs.
- Uphold all company policy and procedures.
- Maintain a high level of awareness and concern for Loss Prevention.
In addition to the MIT Roles and Responsibilities above, the MMIT will have a weekly merchandising focus. The Merchandiser in Training will both partner and support the Assistant Visual Manager and Visual Manager.
Expectations:
- Presentation
- Assist the Visual Management team in the interpretation of Home Office Visual communication.
- Utilize weekly sales reports to track, analyze and communicate business results and determine merchandising strategies.
- Execute weekly merchandising and display objectives.
- Assist in planning and executing new product placement.
- Partner with the Operations Team to manage mid-day restock placement and efficient restock strategies.
- Monitor and train staff to maintain presentation standards.
- Participate in quarterly district inspiration days and contribute to District Kodak Gallery and any inspirational reference.
- Maintain an awareness of apparel and accessory trends, in relevance to our store environment.
- People
- Communicate merchandising and display concepts and trends to store team through store communication boards, morning meetings and all store staff meetings.
- Partner with Assistant Operations Manager to administer and communicate results of daily closing standards.
- Process
- Adhere to all typical day/week/stock/Monday guidelines.
- Participate in the Monday walk-through and assist in determining weekly/monthly objectives.
- Execute weekly objectives.
- Ensure daily restock guidelines are met.
- Monitor and train sales team to maintain product and cleanliness standards.
- Review with Visual Manager all District Visual Manager communication and objectives set.
- Communicate daily observations of stock level maintenance.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines.
