Free People: Summer 2018 Internships - Buying

BUYING

 

Are you interested in an internship in Philly with URBN for the summer of 2018?  Now is your chance! We are currently accepting applications to receive an invitation to the URBN Internship Interview Day that will take place in early January 2018.

 

VISIONARY: You don’t follow trends, you start them.

Buying Intern Responsibilities

 

  • Attend important buying meetings regarding product selection, design, and style

     

  • Support the daily operations within designated buying area and develop partnerships with the assistant or associate buyer on all necessary tasks

     

  • Brainstorm and research new products and trends

     

  • Managing the flow of merchandise

     

  • Opportunities in Apparel and Accessories

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills

     

  • Ability to prioritize projects and multitask

     

  • Rudimentary understanding of retail math

     

  • Detail oriented

     

  • Creative thinker

     

  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

     

  • Retail experience preferred

     

 

 

What to Submit

(2) Fall 2018 Trend Concept Board (8.5 X 11 PDF)

 

·         Focus on 3 to 5 fashion trends that you see emerging for the Free People customer and Brand for Fall 2018

 

·         You may use visuals from blogs, Instagram, magazines, etc. to show your point of view but be sure to think like a Buyer and show us future inspirational trends that move beyond where we are currently or where we have been.

 

·         Be sure your point of view is clear by using multiple images to illustrate each of your ideas.

 

·         This is the creative part of the application so have fun with it, there are no major guidelines!

 

 

 

How to Submit

 

·         Please create 1 PDF that contains the two pieces of your application (resume and trend concept board) and upload it to the Resume section of your online application.

 

·         Once you have submitted your complete application online you will receive an email invitation to complete a video interview for the position. This video interview must be completed within 2 days from the time you receive the invitation so be on the lookout for the video interview email.
