Reports To: Director of Digital Marketing

The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for all aspects acquisition and retention, from strategy to execution, across a suite of digital marketing channels including; Paid Search, SEO, CSE’s, Retargeting/Display, and Affiliate marketing. Reporting to the Director of Digital Marketing & Analytics, this individual will manage a talented team of four, drive improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of digital marketing programs and channels, and explore new initiatives.  This individual is accountable for the alignment of digital channel strategies and tactics, and optimizing channel performance results. In addition, this person is responsible for the management and development of four direct reports and will partner closely with other functions of the business, including analytics, brand marketing, Finance, Merchandising and Planning. The idea candidate is someone who thrives in a in a fast-paced environment, is data-driven, and has a track record for building cohesive strategies and summarizing results.



  • Manage interactive marketing campaigns end-to-end, including brainstorming, planning, testing, execution, reporting and optimization
  • Manage and mentor four direct reports
  • Review and analyze campaign performance reports, provide team members with additional analysis and strategy recommendations, ensure execution on the analysis to positive ROI
  • Analyze results for all channels to ensure traffic, sales, and ROI are reforcasted and in line with planning’s forecast on a monthly basis
  • Continuously optimize weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting to provide actionable recommendations and deliver continuous improvements to our processes and performance
  • Manage Free People marketing calendar and compile all channel strategies into consolidated event briefs to communicate to senior leadership and then report on results post event. 
  • Oversee agency relationships for Search, Affiliate, and Remarketing
  • Champion continuous advancement of our digital strategies by attending events, growing industry network, and partnering with agencies & vendors to participate in beta programs
  • Identify opportunities that will profitably grow the business and generate incremental revenue while enhancing the brand
  • Align closely with the analytics team to ensure acquisition efforts are grounded in data about our existing customers
  • Lead and contribute towards a culture of innovation and results



  • 8+ years of applicable employment, ideally with a retail ecommerce business
  • Working experience with a wide range of marketing channels including paid search, affiliates, SEO, email, retargeting
  • Strong experience with web and customer analytics, A/B testing, and tools such as Google Analytics, Coremetrics or Omniture
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills, comfortable working with various skill and seniority levels across the company
  • Prior leadership experience overseeing a team’s performance and career development
  • An ability to balance auantitative and qualitiative approaches, while remaining data-driven and soltions-oriented



  • Ability to compile and analyze performance data and metrics in order to inform key decisions regarding campaign direction
  • Understanding of various financial models within digital marketing including CPM, CPC, and CPA and strength in analyzing campaign results
  • Developing and managing a team of strong performers
  • Strong decision-making, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
