Free People: Analyst, Campaign and Segmentation

Free People is looking for a campaign and segmentation analyst to join our Digital Marketing and Analytics team.  The right candidate for this position will possess a balance of quantitative reporting and analytical skills alongside a big-picture strategic curiosity.

As a member of the Digital Marketing and Analytics team, this position will be responsible for contributing to an environment of fact-based decision making within the Free People brand utilizing URBN’s extensive supply of customer, campaign, site, and marketing channel data. 



  • Analyze online and offline campaign performance of Free People’s marketing channels including Email, Direct Mail and Push Messaging
  • Work closely with marketing teams to provide analyses of campaigns and trends, and make recommendations to the business for enhancing effectiveness through audience segmentation, messaging direction, and contact frequency
  • Develop and execute email marketing technical and operational strategies in support of broader company objectives; to include:  hands on execution of customer promotional emails and triggered life cycle marketing campaigns using Unica, Cheetahmail, and ad-hoc SQL
  • Focus on efficient processes and uncovering insights from data and analysis
  • Actively collaborate with the other members of the organization to enable customer-focused marketing strategies.



  • A minimum of 2 years of email marketing and email campaign execution experience
  • Experience working with large customer databases
  • Experience using industry standard segmentation tools (Unica a plus, Alterian, Aprimo etc.)
  • Proficient at writing and using SQL to extract data from larger database environments
  • Experience setting up and managing email campaigns in an industry standard vendor platform (Cheetahmail a plus, Epsilon, Silverpop, Exact Target, Responsys etc.)
  • A passion and curiosity for the ever-changing digital space
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced results-oriented organization
