FOOTWEAR DESIGNER - Women's Footwear Brand

Women's footwear brand is seeking a footwear designer in Southern California who possesses on-trend creative and technical skills to advance our image and mission for style and comfort.


Responsibilities:

Present innovative and trendy design concepts that incorporate color, fun and vibrancy while maintaining practical function and superior comfort.

Keep up to date with current and future trends in design, production techniques and technologies to improve production process and meet cost and quality goals.

Create seasonal footwear collections on a timely basis and ensure successful production and delivery schedules.

Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to promote the collections and strengthen brand presence.

When necessary, travel internationally to our factories
overseas, and domestically to attend trade shows.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in fashion or apparel design with minimum of 8 years' experience in the creation of women's fashion and comfort footwear.

• Must have a functional knowledge of Digital Design Platforms and traditional hands-on footwear development skills.

• Able to present a portfolio and samples of actual designs and productions.

• Familiar with materials / components sourcing and
manufacturing. Able to optimize use of current resources and find new resources

• Experience working with Asian and European suppliers and footwear factories.

• Able to travel both domestically and internationally

• Strong negotiating skills

• Strong written and oral communication skills including ability to give presentations

• Have a positive attitude and be a team player and good listener
