Major Responsibilities:
The Financial Analyst, Accounting supports the banner accounting
and finance processes to ensure all monthly and quarterly functions are
completed accurately and on time within company policy
Role Responsibilities:
- Support the month end close process to
ensure accurate and timely financial statements
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly journal entries, account reconciliations, and
variance analysis
- Approve low risk account reconciliations
- Provide internal customer support on various queries
- Champion timely resolution of issues identified with various
internal teams (FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, etc.)
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and analysis to support
Corporate activities, including optimization and transition of additional work
to HBC India
Qualifications
Personal Characteristics:
The successful candidate must be an expert communicator, who
can build strong business relationships and who has strong organizational and
time management skills. He/she is a self-starter, a problem-solver and should
be comfortable working in an ever changing environment.
Professional Qualifications:
- 1 - 3 years of experience in accounting, finance or related
field
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel. A working knowledge of and
Oracle GL / Oracle Fusions, Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Essbase is
an asset
- Experience with accounting monthly and quarterly close
process, internal controls, financial systems, and processes.
- Experience with annual audits from a public company
perspective.
- Knowledge of accounting standards (e.g. IFRS, GAAP),
experience with foreign currency translation, impairment testing, accounting
contract review, internal controls management etc.
- Experience in Mergers /Acquisitions with ability to identify
potential accounting issues within complicated transactions and propose
effective resolution
- Experienced in financial statement preparation and analysis
- Experience in the retail industry, while not required, is
preferred
Educational Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree, business, finance or accounting
background preferred
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA)
designation is required (completed or in progress)
Travel Requirements:
- Travel to Europe and/or US will be required
