Perry Ellis International is seeking a Fabrics Intern for our Miami headquarters. This is a 10-week paid Internship that offers you real-life exposure to our dynamic, creative, and fast-paced industry. The Intern will work alongside our product and sourcing team.
Description:
Assist in organizing the fabric library.
Shadow team members and learn how to do fabric constructions.
Learn how to weigh and check submittals that come in from vendors.
Work with the design team to understand their needs for next season, and look for affordable alternatives if possible.
Work on presentations to show new development from vendors to design teams.
Create google data base of the new technologies available.
Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in Fine Arts, Fabrics or related field preferred.
Currently enrolled and attending an accredited College/University is required.
Passion for textile, fabrics and color preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize projects and multi-task.
Ability to succeed in a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Applications.
Schedule is Monday through Thursday from May 22nd- July 27th (Intern must be able to accommodate this schedule).
