Fabric Coordinator – Branded & Private Label

Komar, an industry leader in the design, marketing, sourcing and distribution of sleepwear, loungewear, layering and intimates is seeking a Fabric Research and Development Coordinator.

Responsibilities and qualifications include:

• Develop and source all new fabric qualities for each Brand and Private Label accounts.
• Effectively negotiate fabric and trim quality, pricing and minimums.
• Assign development numbers for all fabrics in sourcing and development.  Keep development charts up to date by season.
• Follow up with factory on counter-submissions/trial rolls for new fabric developments and testing reports.
• Email factory comments and get approval of counter-submissions.
• Preview and comments on pretesting reports and ensure they are submitted.
• Partner with design on fabric & trim development needs for each brand/delivery.
• Manage vendor relationships.
• Good communicator with strong follow-up skills. Liaison between design and production teams.
• Ability to multitask and manage heavy workload.
• Strong organizational skills and time management skills. Ability to meet deadlines and produce results with tight time constraints.
• Excellent computer skills utilizing Blue Cherry and Excel.

 Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Textiles or related area.
• Strong technical fabric knowledge.
• 2 years plus of experience working with materials & testing.
