FABRIC R&D MANAGER

Adecco Creative & Marketing is assisting ANN INC in their search for a Fabric R&D Manager for the LOFT brand!  This role is ongoing freelance (40 hours/week) and is located in NYC.

The Fabric R&D Manager’s responsibilities include:

 - Work closely with design to fabricate all deliveries 

- Develop and source fabrics according to design direction and targeted price points 

- Negotiate prices with mills as needed 

- Ensure brand appropriate, trend right, and elevated quality fabrics 

- Propose fabric/product improvements to elevate the aesthetic and inherent value of the product 

- Ensure fabric developments are ready on time 

- Update sourcing/design of all development status 

- Partner with design and sourcing to meet IMU goals and support pricing structure 

- Suggest and drive solutions to fabric pricing challenges 

- Assist in resolving any MTL issues 

- Assist with any issues with mills such as quality or delivery that sourcing may encounter 

- Partner with key mills to work on blankets and color cards for key programs 

- Provide quality standard approvals for bulk 

- Collect all references for all fabric developments 

- Monitor tailoring of new seasonal qualities

Requirements for the ideal Fabric R&D Manager include: 

- 5-7+ years’ Fabric R&D experience in sportswear 

- Solid fabric knowledge to develop and counter fabrics 

- Fabric sourcing experience working with Turkey, India, and China 

- Ability to work with design to finalize fabrics for development 

- Organized, an ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment 

- Experience creating fabric trend boards
