Fabric Development Manager

 We are seeking a Fabric Development and Sourcing Manager with experience developing women’s apparel to execute the vision of our design department. This individual will be responsible for sourcing brand-appropriate textiles, troubleshooting issues with material/price/delivery, and supporting design’s needs and business requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Initiate fabric development
• Communicate daily with fabric mills, design, production and sales teams
• Research domestic & international fabric markets to identify new  trends, techniques, etc
• Maintain product development timeline to ensure seasonal deliveries are produced within deadlines required
• Managing sourcing staff
• Manage the order process for prototype & salesman samples yardage on seasonal basis
• Maintain fabric information library including price, minimums for samples and stock, weight & width, yarn size, and vendor contact information
• Create Royalty agreement for POs
• Participate in group meetings for fabric sourcing
• Present and offer solutions to challenges related to fabric
• Negotiate minimums, costs, surcharges, pricing for bulk order with vendors
• Understand the OneWorld/Unger Fabric  customer and their fabric preferences
• Lead the approval process of quality bulk fabric-
• Maintain Fabric Library up to date.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or AA in related field
• At least 5 years of apparel sourcing & product development experience
• Strong negotiating skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent communication & follow-up skills
