Bass, among others, seeks a Fabric Associate to join its team based in New York City.

The Fabric Associate will be responsible assisting the R&D Fabric Manager on a daily basis. This is a great opportunity to work with leading global brand. The ideal candidate will need strong aesthetic for color, monitor product integrity in keeping with timely delivery. The successful individual must have sound fabric knowledge as it relates to garment production.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Fabric R&D and Technical Director to initiate and drive fabric adoption process.
  • Initiate and arrange pre-season sourcing appointments with mills & vendors.
  • Analyze fabric test reports to ensure company guideline/standards are met.
  • Daily updating, maintaining of the fabric development T&A and Fabric chart.
  • Organization and maintenance of fabric qualities in fabric library in respective area.
  • Communicate to production and materials technical quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in textiles or design or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years in textiles industry working with fabrics
  • Very detail oriented and ability to drive to completion with strong communication, organizational, and problem solving skills
  • Clear understanding of general fabric development process
  • Solid fabric construction knowledge across a specialized area (i.e. woven, knit, yarn, trim) and general fabric construction understanding across woven and knits
  • Clear understanding of dyeing, printing, and finishing techniques
  • Computer literate in Microsoft office programs and fashion base computer applications.
