Executive Director, Brand Messaging

 

Michelle Stuhl & Company, Inc. is a global retained executive search firm specializing in recruiting creative and business talent for executive positions.

We are working with the cutting-edge beauty brand MAC Cosmetics on an exciting search for an Executive Director, Brand Messaging.  

We are seeking a leader who is a strategic and conceptual thinker as well as an excellent writer and editor. Experience in communications and/or editorial in fashion, arts, music and culture as well as knowledge of current global trends is preferred. The role requires strong management skills and a proven capability leading and developing teams. 

This leader will collaborate with the Senior Vice President of Creative to develop and implement messaging for the MAC brand voice including Global Communications for all print, digital, in-store, as well as all social media platforms. In addition, they will be responsible for leading a team that creates content for all press materials, MACzine, MAC Aids Fund and Artists Relations projects. Candidates must be able to interpret the MAC brand and produce interesting and relevant content that highlights the company’s innovative products and initiatives. This position is located at the MAC offices in New York City. The MAC studio is fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Copy for all MAC marketing programs including product/promotion names, fact sheets, collateral, ROP advertising, retail/special events and press releases.
  • Copy for Direct Mail
  • Conceptualization and editorial direction for MACzine. Includes contacting and giving direction to contributors and editing of all copy.
  • Copy for Artist Relations, AT&D, Global Communications, Travel Retail and MAF.
  • Copy for Online globally, including e-commerce, PRO, MAF as well as all social media sites.
  • Team with marketing staff in order to maximize workflow and facilitate communication.
  • Maintain an understanding of nuances that may impact international markets.
  • Write and oversee copy for videos if necessary.
  • Write and oversee creative PPT presentations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA or BFA preferred
  • 10-years minimum agency/in-house creative group or freelance within Fashion Industry
  • Knowledge of computer programs including, Microsoft Word, PPT and Keynote.
  • Ability to work with a variety of people in various disciplines
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Understanding of current fashion trends
  • Knowledge of changing market trends and directions
  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment
