Ecommerce Demand Planner
The Demand Planner will be focused on their respective categories identifying opportunities to increase sales and sharing their insights and recommendations with the Category Management Team. This role is responsible for supporting marketing driven promotions and new item launches and ensuring we have ample inventory to fulfill the customers’ requests. Additionally, the Demand Planner is responsible for providing forecasts to support various departments as in relates to new items, promotional activity and clearance items.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and provide projections as it relates to new items, seasonal and promotional buys.
- Analyze merchandise sales, inventory and profitability and make recommendations to the key stake holders in order to maximize profitability.
- Partner with the Category Management Team as it pertains to the coordination and review of merchandise assortments and availability.
- Synthesize and share information with the replenishment team to support the accurate and timely replenishment of inventory for new and existing items in the assortment.
- Manage multiple activities related to purchasing, tracking and supporting online promotions based on anticipated lifts.
- Lead regularly scheduled meetings with the Category Management Team to review performance, trends and growth opportunities.
Requirements:
- Strong data analysis skills using Excel and Access
- Business knowledge of retail and merchandising concepts.
- Outstanding analytical skills with demonstrated success organizing, analyzing and accurately interpreting large amounts of data.
- Solid Understanding of Allocation Strategies as it pertains to Website Fulfillment.
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills particularly under time pressure and non-routine situations.
- Strong Interpersonal skills and capable of communicating with different levels of management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Retail, Supply Chain Management or Finance.
- Knowledge of planning and replenishment concepts.
- 2-5 years work experience in retail planning required.
- Previous Ecommerce planning experience a plus
