E-COMMERCE PLANNER

rag & bone is currently seeking an ecommerce planner, responsible for the daily planning/reforecasting of merchandise and key performance indicators like traffic, conversion and AOV. This role would influence the assortment selection through classification planning.  Additionally, this role works with the ecommerce operations (site merchandising, warehouse management) and digital marketing (promotions, emails) to offer excellent customer experience while keeping parity with store events/promotions/experience. Success for this role includes managing to strong financials (sales, margin, and inventory), understanding business on a global scale but willing to work through the smallest details by taking initiative, being curious and collaborating freely.

Responsibilities

Ecommerce business management

  • Work with partners on ecommerce operations/marketing to coordinate all elements (sales plans, promotional activities, inventory management, etc.) to drive business
  • Leverage traditional KPI to model sales for both seasonal and promotional activity
  • Prepare the monthly LE (last estimate) validating sales and margin and ensuring that financial projections represent new strategies, event and holiday shifts, and mitigates risk
  • Review and report on the current and future inventory position including any risk to open to buy, delivery of receipts, changes in on order, and seasonality risks and opportunities
  • Manage seasonal inventory tactically partnering with buyers and planners to optimize margin
  • Compile and prepare hindsight and financial strategy topline presentations for cross functional team presentation
  • Develop Demand Sales plans, in coordination with the promo calendar to ensure the business is set – up to meet the Net Sales plan.
  • Communicate the Demand Sales Projections to warehouse/ecom ops, to ensure proper planning for key, upcoming Sales Events.

 Strategic Planning

  • Complete historical analysis at the product level to determine opportunities to grow sales and margin and optimize inventory
  • Support new ventures with sales, margin and inventory analysis
  • Guide the planning and merchandising teams utilizing historical data, current trends, and socio/economic information to capitalize on new opportunities and identify risks.

 Assortment and Merchandise Planning

  • Establish sales, margin, flow, and IMU goals prior to the planning of each delivery
  • Maintain an open-to-buy for the channel

 Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-4 years merchandise planning experience in ecommerce (required)
  • Presenting and recommending strategies and building a business case
  • Proven experience with Inventory Control, Allocation, Merchandising, Demand Forecasting, Financial Planning or Analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Retail Math, including Gross Margin proficiency
  • Experience with eCommerce retail including operational KPI’s such as traffic, conversion, AOV, UPT
  • Self-starter: willingness to work independently to dig into business and present call-outs
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail (including planning and reforecasting at the daily level)
