DKNY SENIOR DESIGNER

Overview:

The Donna Karan Company LLC, one of the world's leading fashion houses, seeks a Senior Designer to join the DKNY Design team based in New York City.

Partner with the Creative Director to collaborate on determining the direction, silhouette and details for the season through research and implementing these ideas cohesively to create new designs.

Responsibilities:

Research of inspiration, trends, embellishment techniques and silhouettes
Design of new and unique styles that best represent the pure aesthetic to make it more identifiable
Working with EVP and Vp of design to finalize silhouettes through sketch reviews
Creating flat sketches
Preparing techpacks for factories
Communicating daily with our merchandiser in HK and also any factories to check progress of styles and any other issues – solving problems that may come up
Working with patternmakers in house sample room to create key pieces for the season
Fit styles for show samples
Direct the team in the creation of 10/11 deliveries

Qualifications:

Fashion design degree
5 year of industry experience
Patternmaking, draping, and sewing
Illustrator and Photoshop
