DIRECTOR, VISUAL MERCHANDISING & RETAIL EXPERIENCE

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Director, Visual Merchandising & Retail Experience to lead the Visual Merchandising team.  Will develop the Retail Concepts – store concepts, pop ups, as well as in-store Visual Merchandising policies and plans – fixtures, display items, windows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS include the following:

Retail Brand Experience

  • Develop creative visual strategy that contributes to and is consistent with brand identity and business objectives, elevating brand through retail concept.
  • Develop creative and manage execution of: store interiors and fixtures, window displays, event environments and special projects.
  • In consultation with marketing and retail, develop seasonal visual initiatives supporting design and merchandising team.
  • Roll out global marketing campaign collateral for visual merchandising
  • With LSS team develop merchandising and store design principals and systems.
  • Develop fixture and signage programs, and in collaboration with the LSS team, oversee and manage production of elements.
  • Develop full store experience programs including music, décor, fixtures, windows and signage.
  • Implement best practices for global Visual Merchandising in stores, special events and seasonal implementations, and through ongoing visual merchandising directives.
  • Partner with Marketing, Merchandising for strategic product placement and fixture productivity in support of sales objectives and seasonal object.
  • Develop visual merchandising guidelines and creative styling direction for stores and retail partners.
  • Provide training to ensure that brand standards are being implemented; evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and update as necessary.
  • Style and maintain public facing areas of corporate facilities.
  • Oversee global implementation of designs and strategies including on-site demonstrations and presentations at market.
  • Create communication tools for better global understanding and implementation and consistency of in-store merchandise assortment, presentation.
  • Design and manage pop-up and shop-in-shop installations to accompany capsule collections and launch events.
  • Other projects/duties as required
  • Assign tasks, objectives and the like to direct reports, and through coaching, performance evaluation, and feedback, assist those direct reports in performing their duties and achieving their objectives. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Merchandising or related field.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel; moderate travel
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • 10+years Visual Merchandising experience at the corporate level, with at least 2 years of management experience.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Must have experience in merchandising handbags and/or accessories.
