POSITION SUMMARY: 

This is an exciting opportunity for a leader to be part of the inaugural launch of a brand new E-Commerce business for our rich Heritage brands.  The Director of Merchandising and Planning, E-commerce is responsible for developing, executing and communicating the product and merchandising strategies for Heritage e-commerce. Directs all planning to ensure adequate volume and inventory levels are met and effectively communicate to cross functional teams. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

 

Planning:

  • Manage e-commerce inventory forecasts and topline sales plans.  Partner with wholesale and retail teams to build assortment plans and strategies to achieve sales and margin goals.   Drive optimal e-commerce breadth, depth, and in-stock levels. 
  • Generate business analysis to track selling, identify key trends and maximize opportunities in the assortment in order to achieve continued growth and profitability for the direct to consumer E-commerce business.
  • Identify and manage key items.
  • Manage pricing ladders to drive e-com business in concert with the wholesale pricing model
  • Manage buying processes across multiple divisions to ensure proper assortment buildout
  • Manage forecasting of replenishment needs aligned with the wholesale buying and supply chain process
  • Oversees relationship between E-commerce and production/warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of goods to E-commerce fulfillment center.

 

Merchandising

  • Manage all aspects of product merchandising including optimizing site search, navigation, and product presentation utilizing web analytics (click path, traffic, conversion, etc.) and traditional retail analytics (demand, net sales, margin, turn, etc.).
  • Partner with cross functional teams to drive website features and product positioning, ensuring that key investments are represented.
  • Collaborate with the design & sales teams to understand the inspiration behind the product and to ensure the appropriate focus is put on the groupings that are most profitable for the website and brand.
  • Share key learnings with cross functional partners.  Be a stakeholder in the broader PVH goal of digital growth and learning to support the wholesale & retail businesses.
  • Partner with Marketing to build marketing calendar and plan to support product assortment strategies and drive traffic.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure optimal web performance and product fulfillment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

 

Experience:   7+ years’ experience in retail planning with buying/merchandising experience preferred.  Must have E-commerce experience, preferably in apparel.    

        

Education:   Bachelor’s degree. 

 

Skills: 

  • Advanced retail math and excellent Excel skills required
  • Understanding of retail e-commerce with ability to translate to site/customer experience.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Passion for product and branding
  • Thorough understanding of backend systems to support and manage inventory planning
  • Solid understanding & experience with online measurement systems.
  • Excellent analytical ability coupled with creative problem solving ability
  • Ability to work well across multiple departments and independently
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable operating in a new and complex/highly leveraged business.
  • Experience with Websphere, ACS, Island Pacific, Web Analytics a plus.
