Director, Merchandising - PVH Corp.

The Director of Merchandising will be responsible for executing strategies to drive revenue growth. The candidate should have proven experience, strong leadership skills, and should be capable of converting insights from sales analysis into actionable plans to achieve overall objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Anticipate market/business trends and develops a plan for response.
  • Develop seasonal assortments while adhering to strategic and financial objectives.
  • Understand competitor’s strengths, weaknesses, and strategies.
  • After meeting/collaborating with design, planning, sourcing and sales, the director of merchandising is ultimately accountable for merchandise performance. 
  • Responsible for recommending revisions to the merchandise plan/forecast based on sound analysis and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Work with planning organization to develop assortment plans that support overall strategy of in-stock positioning for key merchandise classifications and items.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with cross functional teams.
  • Coach and develop Product Development Manager, ensuring growth and readiness for next level position.
  • Work with planning and sales organizations to develop pricing and margin strategies.
  • Work with GSC teams on obtaining target costing for all styles; and work with Design to modify product when necessary to achieve target costing and Margins.
  • Administer and manage product development calendar.
  • Work with fabric and sourcing teams, in conjunction with PDAs, to deliver a successful on-time sample line.
  • Manage and approve all changes to the product lines every season through the Change Management System/Bulletin for both Mainline and Specials.
  • Serve as System Administrator for Heritage Brands for the order processing system including User maintenance, Data base maintenance, and Report maintenance.
  • Oversee and direct PDA’s including Senior PDA’s and Managers on a daily basis of all workload.
  • Preview current line with Licensing, Retail Division and Accounts as needed.
  • Responsible for additional style needs or requests for Off Price Accounts and Clubs.

 

Qualifications:

 

Experience:  8-10 years’ experience in a merchandising/buying/product development role.

    

Education:   Bachelor’s degree.

  • PC Skills: MSOffice (Excel, PowerPoint, word), MS Outlook, Photoshop and/or Illustrator
