Reporting Relationship:

The Director, Cosmetics Operations will report directly into the Divisional Merchandising Manager.

Major Responsibilities:

The Director, Cosmetics Operations for Hudson’s Bay is responsible for the maximization of sales and profitability of Cosmetics & Fragrances through the development and implementation of key initiatives relating to store operations, including budgeting, payroll and staffing, reporting and analysis, and events. The Director works in partnership with key stakeholders including Store Leadership, Merchant Teams & Vendor Partners.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Manages the cosmetics operational budget for Hudson’s Bay
  • Works closely with vendors, stores and other internal partners to ensure proper staffing and payroll allocations 
  • Partners with DMM to negotiate with vendors
  • Creates, runs and provides analysis on weekly, monthly reports related to productivity, sales, turnover and others. Distribute and communicate to all key stakeholders.
  • Partners with vendors, stores and other internal partners to lead, plan and execute events nationally including large scale corporate events and smaller vendor or store based events
  • Creates and communicates seasonal priority calendar relating to cosmetics events
  • Additional responsibilities as required

Qualifications

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in Business Management or Retail Management
  • 5+ years experience in related field
  • Proven ability to deliver results and achieve targets
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, client facing and presentation skills
  • Skilled at coaching, developing, and influencing others
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility with stakeholders or clients 
  • Eager to embrace and support change, ability to manage in an ambiguous environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel as required to deliver on objectives
