Digital Strategy Intern - Current MBA Candidate

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Digital Strategy Intern, is to support the Digital Strategy team in special projects, strategic planning & analysis, and ongoing program management for HBC Digital. This unique role will be a part of the Office of the Digital EVP, have exposure to senior leadership, and across all banners (Saks, Saks Off5th, Lord and Taylor, Hudson’s Bay, and recently Gilt).

 

Primary Goals:

• Program Assistance and Management

• Help pursue identified priority work-streams to drive programs forward within HBC Digital

• Participate in key work streams and task forces; including the pursuit of digital innovation and all-channel opportunities

• Support the creation of strategic content, coordination across teams, and communication of decisions/deadlines

• Support overall program development by overseeing identified deliverables

 

Special Projects:

• Assist in identified special projects that directly impact the digital organization

• Support the digital leadership team with special projects; specific projects will be determined at the time of hire and ongoing depending on need

• Lead and present projects to leadership when identified by the team 

 

Qualifications

Education:

• Current MBA Candidate, local to NY city area

• Must be able to work on site at least 2 days per week

 

Skills:

•  Job specific knowledge and abilities, general business acumen, other required skills 

• Strong strategic and analytical background

• Proven effective communication skills

• Ability to take complex information and create a compelling and understood narrative

• General understanding of retail and digital organizations

 

A good candidate should:

• Thrive in a fast-paced working environment

• Be able to prioritize competing workstreams, often with quick turnarounds

• Quickly grasp and effectively communicate difficult concepts

• Be a collaborative worker, yet with a strong independent drive

• Possess strong attention to detail

 

Experience:

• At least 3+ years work experience prior to business school

• Consulting or similar strategy background

• Experience working with executive leadership in some capacity

 

Competencies:

• Exceptional PowerPoint skills, proficient in Excel, Outlook etc.

• Basic understanding of all business functions (Finance, Marketing, Operations, Product etc.)

• Demonstrated capability of leading a cross-functional program
