Fast growing direct-to-consumer Los Angeles based women’s apparel and accessories company is looking for a Development and Production Manager.

Primary Job Functions and Responsibilities

 

Development:

-partner with design/merchandising to build annual company development calendar

-manage calendar, and alert team to calendar deadlines. Manage fitting schedule priority in order to execute determined timeline of development and production. 

-review all development swatches with design, send comments to vendor on swatches, follow up with vendor on all development of fabrics 

-partner with design weekly on merchandising, revise development timelines and adjusting the merchandising plan based on development status

-frequent communication with vendor to ensure timeline is maintained for merchandising plan

-work with content director to determine deadlines for photoshoot samples, communicate these deadlines to vendor and work closely with design to make sure design changes don’t impact timeliness of samples. troubleshoot issues that would prevent samples from arriving on schedule for photoshoots.

Production Management:

-create and manage production lead time / time and action calendar on a seasonal basis

-track PP and TOP approvals and chase samples for approval

-manage timeline of all bulk fabric and trim approvals, maintain binders of production approved fabrics and trims

-communicate with vendor on bulk fabric and trim quality, approvals, rejections, troubleshooting

-communicate bulk deadlines to vendor and follow through on all bulk components to ensure bulk xfty date is maintained

-work with design during production fittings to have awareness on changes that will impact delivery and the effect on merchandising plan

-review all bulk submits received against development submits and then review findings with design/merchandising

Production Coordination:

- upload styles in ERP system and push to POS

- enter POs in system as seasonal buy and costing is confirmed

- work with Customer Service to maintain correct inventory numbers in system, requests counts on trims and product as needed

- send barcode file info in csv to vendors and track physical barcode label approvals from vendor submits

- track test results by group and make sure that all styles are in compliance

- communicate delivery dates for product to Customer Service

- coordinate trims on per group basis as below

- coordination seasonal classifications with Distribution Manager

 

Trim Development and Production:

- develop trims as needed

- approve vendor invoices and submit for payment

- coordinate care and size label production with either vendor or trim supplier depending on a per group basis

- maintain trim stock in Hong Kong against seasonal projection, and place PO/projections as needed to fulfill projection.

 

Maintain Costing Spreadsheet Including:

- maintaining log of costs received on a seasonal basis, by vendor

- creating seasonal spreadsheet including estimation of duty, freight, trims, and margin information.

- communicate with vendor regarding targets and product changes during cost negotiation.

- setting up buy sheets/projections to be sent to vendor.
