Designer - Women's Outdoor

HI-TEC is a 43 year old, global, casual hiking footwear brand. Tharanco Outdoor has recently secured the license for outdoor apparel and is seeking a hands-on, creative, womenswear designer to develop a fully technical collection with great crossover appeal from the ground up in an entrepreneurial environment.

POSITION

• Freelance / consultant retainer basis to start with the potential for future full-time as the brand sells in.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with the brand president, merchandiser and menswear designer to develop and create the collection including market trend research, inspiration, design, computer flats and CADs, trims, tech package BOMs, etc.
• Work with tech designer on garment specifications, and fit.
• Communicate daily with team members, overseas offices and vendors as needed.
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in fashion design or related field preferred.
• 8+ years related womenswear design experience with 4 years specifically in outdoor / performance athletic apparel.
• Personal interest and knowledge of women's outdoor apparel silhouettes, technical fabrications, construction, trim, etc.
• Organized problem solver who is able to adhere to calendars and deadlines.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Excel. Experience with YuniquePLM preferred.
