Design Research Associate (CALVIN KLEIN 205W39NYC ) - CALVIN KLEIN

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Design Research Associate supports Design Director in the area of inspiration, design development and communication.  This role supports with research and creative imagery bringing new and innovative ideas linked to garment construction, collection concept, colors, casting and art culture. Support the Design Director with presentation boards and materials that align with the creative vision set forth by the Chief Creative officer and Global Creative Director. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Research (imagery and vintage) for 205W39NYC concepts, garment construction, accessories, showspace, casting, materials and color.
  • Assist with designing concept boards to communicate design and seasonal directions to the team.
  • 3-D mock-up of ideas on Stockman.
  • Lay-out and update of 205W39NYC inspirational books.
  • Working closely with the design team, helping with specific artwork requests.
  • Taking a proactive role in keeping the design library updated.
  • Stays abreast of competitive luxury landscape, and “what is going on in art world”
  • Support ad hoc creative projects as assigned.
  • Handle administrative, organizational duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:  

2- 3 years experience in design.

Internship exp acceptable

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Or Master degree

Skills:            

  • Refined taste level.
  • Ability to mock-up ideas in 3D on a mannequin
  • Strong communications skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative “out of the box” thinker.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to establish good relationships with key parties and department staff.
  • Positive solution oriented.
  • Highly adaptable, invigorated by change.
  • “A people person” that enjoys working with a close team.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Flexibility to deadline demands, seasonal schedules, weekend work, long hours.
  • Strong Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop skills.
  • In Design skills – a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Office – PPT skills
