Creative Product Development Manager, Knitwear - Calvin Klein
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Creative Product Development Manager supports the design & sourcing process by facilitating communication and resources between overseas offices, factories and mills. This position will ensure product integrity by coordinating smooth flow of communication between design, atelier, and merchandising functions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
- Ensure consistent and ongoing communication flow with Product Development team in Italy regarding documentation and any other necessary information in order to streamline the following processes: costing; merchandising consistency, marketing operations, industrialization and pre-start-up activities for production.
- Support designer team in material research and developing knit swatches.
- Create Cut Tickets in Project Management WEB.
- Coordinate with suppliers to receive yarn color cards and samples (logistics) sharing information with Product Development team in Italy.
- Coordinate and communicate cost and financial updates for budget control to Product Development team in Italy.
- Purchase materials for proto and samples with input from the designer and ensure communication to the Product Development team in Italy.
- Maintain a catalogue of all the seasonal materials and samples for the design team to utilize (styles codes, catalogue , overview, specifications and any updates)
- Prepare documentation for proto-types, samples and creative launches (Sketches, yarn, colors).
- Support the Product Development logistics of proto-type and samples deliveries.
- Participate in fitting to support the designer in the production process.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience: 3-4 years of experience as product developer is needed.
Education: Degree in design or product development.
Skills:
- Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills.
- Possess high taste level.
- Ability to work in an open floor plan and remain focused on priorities.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Flexibility to work long hours when necessary, high level of dedication.
- Strong collaboration and cross functional partnership skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong Excel and Photoshop skills
