Colorist

Overview:

The Donna Karan Company LLC, one of the world's leading fashion houses, is currently seeking a Colorist to join its team in New York City. 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing accurate color analysis from sample lab-dip stage to bulk production.
• Maintain accurate approval records to monitor multiple fabrications to ensure consistency of color within garments as well as seasonal color palette to meet product development milestones and calendar due dates.
• Communicate approval, correction and rejection as necessary within calendar timeline to fabric vendors and factories overseas to meet product development milestones and calendar due dates.
• Manage seasonal color library used by design and R&D team.

• Maintain seasonal color reference library for lap dips, bulk swatches and the master color book.
• Support with the creation of seasonal brand color palette by researching, organizing, ordering and distributing.
• Match fabric samples to Pantone colors as needed.
• Maintain color resource library books of Pantone, Bros and Trend Union books

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of relevant experience
• B.A or B.S College degree preferably from a fashion school
• Excellent Organizational skills is a MUST
• Extreme sense of urgency is a MUST
• Problem solver – Solution oriented
• Excellent eye for color is a MUST
