Overview

 

The Category Manager is responsible for the planning, calendaring, and execution of new merchandise on the site while ensuring maximum financial returns. This role will support the buying teams as well as act as liaison cross-functionally.

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

 

·        Work with creative team/fashion editors to create site content comprised of compelling product assortments

 

·        Work with merchants and fashion office to compile key items and trends to feature in site content

 

·        Act as a liaison between merchants and Merch Ops to ensure timely management of item set up work flow, NOS, QC Defects, and dropship.

 

·        Conduct analysis to identify dot.com sales opportunities to achieve sales and margin plans.

 

·        Manage events and launches through roadmap and email calendar

 

·        Coordinate the calendar, data, styling and copy information of items

 

·        Work closely with Buyers, Merchandising Assistants, Copy Writing, Marketing, Sample Coordinators, Fashion Editors and Merch Ops to ensure item copy and styling accuracy, classification, messaging and publication dates.

 

·        Ensure images are consistent with messaging to customer.

 

Qualifications Qualifications:
  • BA/BS Degree

     

  • Must demonstrate business acumen and a high level of analytical skills

     

  • Previous experience in a buying office, ecommerce, or merchandise operations role

     

  • Keen eye for details and fashion sense

     

  • Ability to multitask and achieve deadlines in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner

     

  • Highly competent with MS Word & Excel a must
