Seeking a Buyer/Senior Buyer for a high-volume e-commerce company located in Commerce, CA!

Must have experience within any of these categories: Home, Bed/Bath, Kitchen, Electronics, Beauty and/or Toys.

What we’re looking for:

We are currently looking for a talented, driven, entrepreneurial team player to join our buying team in finding the best deals of the century! Successful candidates are highly motivated and can work under limited supervision.  This is an exciting role with a lot of career opportunities with a growing company.

As a Buyer, you are responsible for buying enticing and exciting product for our customers. It is your job to track your product categories – determining competitive pricing and analyzing marketplace trends to find new opportunities.

What you’ll do: 

  • Manage opportunistic buying responsibility (based on category) and accountability for sales and margin performance
  • Demonstrate understanding in merchandising and assortment planning
  • Collaborate with management in the development and execution of merchandising and promotional strategies for all categories
  • Manage and forecast inventory to maximize sales and profit
  • Partner with Planning team to develop and execute seasonal plans, open-to-buy, merchandising and promotional strategies
  • Provide analysis and interpretation of key business issues, which includes sales reporting, Open-to-Buy monitoring, and stock analysis
  • Proactively network with vendors regarding available merchandise and negotiate directly on purchases
  • Competitively shop all competing brick and motor and eCommerce sites to identify trends, opportunities, and brands
  • Responsible for growth and development of Assistant Buyer
  • Aid in establishing best practices and building processes appropriate for new and growing business

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6-8 years of Retail Merchandise Buying experience, eCommerce a plus
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent analytical skills and retail math skills
  • Highly effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Extensive experience negotiating and interacting with vendors
  • Highly experienced MS Excel user
