Overview

The Urban Outfitters Business Intelligence Analyst position is one of the key liaisons between the Business Intelligence team, Urban Outfitters Merchandising groups and all the Reporting systems activity.  This position will be responsible for delivering cohesive reporting and analytics solutions across the Urban Outfitters Merchandising groups. These accountabilities include system and data analysis, reporting, documenting business requirements, trouble shooting and resolving issues encountered by our partners.

Responsibilities

  • Must display a broad knowledge of Ecommerce and Merchandising processes
  • Learn and support current BI landscape and make recommendations for continuous improvement
  • This position needs to anticipate and identify issues that may prevent deliverables and develop and implement corrective actions
  • Identify reporting and business process challenges, work proactively to provide solutions
  • Responsible for streamlining UO reporting package and ensuring accuracy, stability, and consistency
  • Collaborate with business teams to develop dynamic analysis and reporting tools, with a goal of self-sufficiency.  Provide training and support to achieve this goal
  • Must quickly learn new processes and business concepts, then relate them to system and reporting needs
  • Responsible for one or more aspects of BI system analysis, design, development, testing and training
  • Communicates and coordinates project activities with business, technical and IT organizations
  • Must embrace technology
  • Negotiates and persuades other groups with diverse perspectives to gain cooperation and adoption

Job Skills

  • MicroStrategy knowledge is required
  • Solid understanding of Database logic
  • Working knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
  • Curiosity and a strong desire to collaborate with and support multiple teams and audiences are a must
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail with emphasis on both quality and speed 

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field.
