BUSINESS ANALYST II

Perry Ellis International is looking for an analytical and detail oriented Business Analyst II.  We are seeking someone who has experience serving as a technical resource for business users, including one-on-one and group supplemental training, problem resolution, and coordination with technical support organization.  This role is a liaison between business user groups, technical systems groups and solution providers.  This position also acts as a mentor/trainer for current Business Analysts at Perry Ellis International.

Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with the business users and management to understand and fulfill their business intelligence/reporting information needs

* Work with internal IT personnel to deliver complex deliverables to support Business Intelligence solution development and with internal stakeholders to ensure that the application configuration supports the business requirements

* Responsible for developing reports, dashboards, and other BI Tools supporting the organization (e.g. Sales, Operations, Service, Logistics, Marketing, Planning, etc…)

* Identify data discrepancies and data quality issues and work with other IT members to ensure data consistency and integrity

* Demonstrate accountability in delivering quality BI tools in a timely manner

* Capable of creating software to enhance BI using Procedural language; such as VB, PL/SQL, T/SQL, Java, etc…

* Must have excellent process analysis skills (i.e. ability to define new processes to meet business goals, or to review and improve existing processes). Ability to utilize tools and evaluate sales trends, determine opportunities and share with management.  

* Manage UAT Training as it pertains to the reporting/analytics tools delivered

* Mentor less experienced BI analysts on methods to determine data quality

* Work on multiple projects and interact with various departments

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or Business-related focus or 5 years work experience in an analytical or technical support function

* 2-5 yrs experience in data development, data analysis, or report programming

* Experience with programming and query languages such as VB, PL/SQL, T/SQL, Java

* Working knowledge of data reporting/analysis tools and techniques (such as Tableau, SAS, SQL, MS Excel, etc…) and leveraging database (such as DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop and/or Netezza

* Preferred experience with tier-one applications, databases, and data warehouses, such as Oracle, MS SQL, SAP/Business Objects, Crystal Reports

* Expertise in structured testing methodology, including conducting systems Test and User Acceptance Test

* Experienced in IT Life cycle development, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment
