ASSOCIATE TECHNICAL DESIGNER - Men's

General Summary: The Associate Technical Designer, in partnership with Manager-Technical Design
and SVP-Production, ensures all product is consistent with brand standards and seasonal design
concepts for a multiple categories within men’s. He/she leverages skills in garment grading/specifications,
fit and construction, fabrics, and sewing operations to fulfill these objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create initial specification sheets and send all existing tech paks and samples/fabric
- Work with 3rd party vendor in fabric, trim and label development
- Ensure all make details are produced as per development package
- Review all fit samples against design package to ensure all specs and design details are followed
- correctly
- Use flat sketches and digital photo images as necessary to communicate corrections to a garment
- Facilitate all garment and factory testing
- Note all design and spec discrepancies prior to fittings
- Make pattern corrections to vendors’ patterns as necessary
- Enforce company grade rules and tolerances
- Establish standardization of fit consistency across vendors
Position Requirements:
- Degree in design, technical design or production
- Knowledge of fabrics, trims and sewing operations associated with standard product types
- Product development and manufacturing experience with offshore manufacturer, domestic importing
- and/or foreign trading companies
- Flexible, organized, team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills (Excel, Illustrator and Photoshop)
