ASSOCIATE DESIGNER - Women's Contemporary

GREYLIN ----- LA-based fashion brand, is seeking a talented women's contemporary Associate Designer to join our team. He/She will work closely with Sr. Designer and Design Director to design for multiple categories.

 

Must be creative, fashion forward, trend-conscious, organized, have ability to work in a fast paced environment, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. He/She will be putting together tech packs, communicating with factories, R&D, give guidance in specs and fit processes, and other daily issues. Prepare spec packages for Product Development and Technical teams including construction details, front and back view sketches, fabrications, trim sheets and critical measurements. Must be Knowledgeable in technical aspects of construction; experienced working with both an in house sample room and overseas design development.

 

* 3 years minimum as a fashion Designer, preferably in the contemporary market

* Loves fashion and current in trends/market research

* Source market for new ideas/materials for embellishments and create layouts

* Excellent hand sketching skills

* Creative and ambitious

* Solid understanding of product construction (e.g. finishes, techniques, fabrics, construction, hardware, etc.).

* Good design and color sense.

* Excellent time management/project skills

* Be a team player and able to delegate work to assistant/interns

* Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail

* Computer skills; proficiency in Excel & Photoshop; Illustrator
