Associate Designer - Tommy Hilfiger Men's Outerwear (G-III Licensed Categories)

Overview:

G-III Apparel Group, the world's premier designer and manufacturer of quality leather outerwear, dresses, women's suits, sportswear and accessories, with a comprehensive portfolio of over 30 licensed and wholly-owned brands, including Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Kenneth Cole, Cole Haan, Guess?, Tommy Hilfiger, Karl Lagerfeld, Levi’s, Dockers, Jessica Simpson, Vince Camuto, Ellen Tracy, Kensie, Ivanka Trump, and G.H. Bass, among others.

 

Assist Senior Designer in developing Outerwear that is suitable for the Tommy Hilfiger brand aesthetic guided by a seasonal assortment plan that supports the brand vision and delivers financial targets.

 

Responsibilities:

1. In partnership with Senior Designer help track Color & Concept Development foreach season.

- Help Research in current fashion & culture.

- Help Create mood / inspiration boards.

- Help present new direction & idea to the Division team members.

 

2. Manage fabric development for outerwear each season.

- Partner with the Senior designer to pitch original fabric development.

- Develop CAD design / artwork.

- Approve / Reject fabric development that’s suitable for brand’s aesthetic & product margin goal.

 

3. Build up tech-packs of garment for oversea manufacturers.

- Create sketches

- Input both design & technical detail of each garment.

 

4. Communicate with overseas offices / Oversea Agency on daily basis regarding fabric development, sample status, and bulk production.

- Confirming design / technical details & questions.

- Requesting fabric & trim development for new ideas, and follow up.

 

5. Constantly research & self-educate to be up to date with foremost fashion, trend and culture.

- Market research: Contemporary & luxury brand boutiques & department store, online retailers.

- Current publication research: Magazines, Blog, Trend & Forecasting subscription, Vintage / archive research.

 

Qualifications:

Fashion Design Degree

At Least 3 Years Industry Experience

Pattern Making, Draping, Sewing

Illustrator & Photoshop
