Associate Designer - PVH Corp.

The Associate Designer will be responsible for supporting the design process from initial conceptualization through line development and receipt of showroom samples.  The ideal candidate for this role must have sufficient experience working on a portion of the line independently under the guidance of their supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather conceptual/trend ideas via competitive store shopping, internet research, and forecasting services.
  • Create seasonal concept boards using imagery, fabric swatches and garments for conceptual presentations using physical boards or virtually using design software.
  • Create color palette using Pantone or ArchRoma colors as standard (may also be responsible for ordering and archiving standards for the group and matching all colors in Kaledo).
  • CAD pattern work for design development boards that follows correct fabric construction.
  • Work with supervisor to prep fabric development sheets to be passed off to raw material sourcing group.
  • Create detailed garment sketches via Illustrator.
  • Work with design team to develop garment and packaging trims.
  • Work on groupings independently by selecting fabrication, pattern work, and colorations under the guidance of supervisor.
  • Attend design development meetings and present groupings directly worked on, taking notes on revisions, and changes for balance of the area.
  • After line adoption, assist with preparing information to be passed off to PDA for input into WEB PDM.
  • Assist with lab dip, knit down, and handloom commenting.
  • Attend fittings and notate revisions that will need to be made to sketches and WEB PDM.
  • When sales samples arrive, work with supervisor to ensure samples are accurate and communicate to PDA/sourcing any discrepancies.
  • Order supplies as needed.

Experience:   2-4 years’ design experience

Education:     Bachelor’s degree

Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Kaledo textile software and Illustrator/Photoshop
