Associate Designer, Mens Outerwear - Tommy Hilfiger

The Associate Designer, Mens Outerwear is responsible for designing and developing the mens OW category in conjunction with the Sr. Designer, Mens OW.   

Responsibilities:

  • Interprets the seasonal mood and concept working with the Design Manager and Mens Design team on the development of the season
  • Designs concepts, illustrations/hand sketches, and creates designs based on original ideas for mens OW
  • Proficient in garment construction, fabrics, silhouette, finishing, embellishments and trim
  • Develop design ideas into groups and create a story with one idea
  • Illustrate boards based on deliveries
  • Work on comprehensible and neat presentations on boards and fabric boards
  • Ensures timely development of line by adhering to time and action calendar
  • Prepares design presentations for review meetings
  • Researches and creates new approaches and methods for outwear category
  • Working closely with Senior Designer on all presentations, developing ideas into groups and creating a story with one idea
  • Work closely with Product Development team
  • Oversees aesthetic development of graphic, trim, and textile design
  • Design calendar adherence
  • Work closely with Fabric R&D team on fabric idea and research
  • Convey all pertinent information to Graphic Design team
  • Able to work on present season and anticipate ideas and concepts for the following seasons at the same time
  • Responsible for communicating fit notes to Technical Design
  • Responsible for color dip approvals and call-outs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Fashion Design
  • 3+ years of previous work experience in design, preferably in mens wovens/outerwear
  • Strong technical experience in wovens/outerwear
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office,  Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Must be able to work on various projects as requested
  • Must be proficient with PDM/PLM systems
  • Must be self-motivated, trustworthy, team player, flexible, organized, and professional at all times
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
