ASSOCIATE DESIGNER - Footwear
Sam Edelman has an incredible opportunity for an Associate Designer to join our highly creative, forward-thinking team in our New York City office.
We seek someone who is confident, proactive and trend-savvy, with exceptional taste. You’re perfect for this position if you have a passion for contemporary fashion and keen eye for the latest footwear trends.
We seek people who:
- Accurately and timely execute design and development processes
- Research latest style and trend data and incorporate into product designs
- Shop major domestic markets with Product Development and Design teams
- Effectively combine trend, brand and merchandising requirements for each season
- Assist in the creation and detailing of product lines
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and license partners
- Provide innovative and creative input, maintaining a strong understanding of brand positioning
- Partner with Product team to ensure product developed supports brand essence
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- 2 years product design experience in fashion or related industry
- 1 year footwear design experience preferred
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong partnering, problem solving and analytical skills
- Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator experience required
- Demonstrated skill sketching by hand; CAD software experience preferred
