Associate Designer - CK Handbags

G-III Apparel Group, the world's premier designer and manufacturer of quality leather outerwear, dresses, women's suits and sportswear with a comprehensive portfolio of over 30 licensed and wholly-owned brands, including Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Kenneth Cole, Cole Haan, Guess?, Tommy Hilfiger, Karl Lagerfeld, Levi’s, Dockers, Jessica Simpson, Vince Camuto, Ellen Tracy, Kensie, Ivanka Trump, and G.H. Bass, among others, seeks an Associate Designer to collaborate with the Senior Designer in design and execution of the seasonal collections.

Responsibilities

• Execute design packages after review with Senior Designer with translation of all details in order for the factory to execute designs and corrections overseas

• Must be able to sketch technical handbag and SLG drawings including interior of bags in order to spec and detail our revisions and new styles properly

• Keep detailed BOM’s and RECAPS organized for groups and accounts

• Assign zipper color codes for placed styles/colors

• Familiarity with the development process as it relates to working with overseas factories and vendors

• Possess a strong fashion sense, and the ability to interpret trends and transcend runway

• Trend research dictated by Senior designer

• Be able to effectively manage time and multi-task, pay strong attention to detail,

• Illustrator and Photoshop required

• Assist in managing all design, sample, material needs with Sr. Designer

• Prepare & follow up on all communication with factory in regards to sample due dates and calendar.

• Work with asst designer to Keep tear library up to date with top 10 “go to” brands

• Manage confirmation sample approval

• Detailing and sending all design revisions to samples we receive

Qualifications

• 2-3 years Design experience
• Bachelor's degree in design required
• Experience/interest in handbags required
