Associate Designer, CK Calvin Klein Men's Knits & Sweaters - CALVIN KLEIN

The Associate Designer works closely with the Knits/Sweaters Design Team as the line is being developed.  In The Associate Designer maintains the continuity of design development for CK Men’s knits/sweaters.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Senior Designer in knit/sweater category – develops sketches based initial sketches and concepts.  Maintain the progression of design in the senior design team’s absence
  • Present ideas based on sketch
  • Conduct research on fabric/trim/trend & color
  • Participate in creating color palettes, research and maintain colors
  • Help produce fabric presentation cards
  • Create tech packs         
  • Assist in developing initial concepts.
  • Assist with design presentations and prototype fittings
  • Partner with SVP Design on all Product & Strategic Initiatives, both long and short term

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience: 2-3 Years of previous work experience    

Education: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree

Skills: 

  • Proficiency in garment construction, with a background in menswear and knits/sweaters a must
  • Proficient in researching and developing graphic tees
  • Proficient  in computer sketching & artwork
  • Experience creating tech packs and communicating fit details to product development /factories
  • Experience with design software, specifically Illustrator and InDesign
  • Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to establish good relationships with key parties and department staff
  • Flexibility to deadline demands, seasonal schedules
