Reporting: Director, Senior Legal Counsel Major Responsibilities Hudson’s Bay Company is seeking a lawyer with at least four years of corporate-commercial experience at a reputable law firm with optional prior in-house experience (ideally a retail environment). The successful candidate will be expected to draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to many aspects of the retail business, provide strategic and proactive advice on a wide variety of issues, as well as advise on corporate finance and transactional matters. This position will support all HBC banners, including Hudson’s Bay, Home Outfitters, Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks OFF FIFTH, Lord & Taylor and Gilt. Role responsibilities include:
Qualifications Personal Characteristics The successful candidate should be a bright, energetic, business-minded and self-motivated transactional attorney with at least three (3) years of corporate commercial experience with optional prior in house experience (retail environment a plus) r with a quantifiable track record of success in delivering results within a large complex organization. He/she must have strong executive presence, business acumen, and the ability to quickly assess a new environment and develop solutions that support the business strategy, critical objectives, and cultural norms. He/she must be creative with a strategic mindset along with the ability to turn concepts into action. He/she must have strong relationship building and influence skills. This role requires a player/coach mentality, capable of thinking strategically as well as rolling up one’s sleeves and getting into the work. The successful candidate will be a change agent who is flexible, resilient, and able to thrive in a dynamic, rapid paced environment.
