Associate Brand Merchandiser, Mens - Tommy Hilfiger

 

The Associate Brand Merchant supports and collaborates with the Director of Brand Merchandising to build product assortments based on sales hindsight/market trend/global EU design direction that fit within cost targets and range plan needs. He/She will work cross-functionally to manage KPI development and shared targets across all seasonal milestone meetings and will be the go-to expert for consumer insights/trends serving all channel needs. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • SKU Architecture/Range Plans
    • Support/collaborate with Director of Brand Merchandising to synergize separate channel range plans into one consolidated brand SKU architecture
    • Focus on identifying strategic opportunities for sharing styles between wholesale and outlet business channels – manage and own organized communication of ongoing styles list
    • Partner with Director of Brand Merchandising to manage KPI tracking for product development ratios between wholesale and outlet business channels
      • Visual Range plan: partner with channel merchants and design to understand store/fixture capacity to reduce over development
  • Partner with Director of Brand Merchandising to build seasonal assortments covering all channel needsAnalyze weekly sales reports and provide Director with key insights across all business channels
    • Collaborate on seasonal trend share
    • Review/edit sketches and prints w/design partners
    • Review/edit protos to meet channel business needs w/design and channel partners
    • Assist in driving fast track development and identifying test/chase opportunities
    • Lead/and or participate in style-outs during seasonal Rack Review
  • Create seasonal analysis of channel assortments, overall themes, similarities and differences for Quarterly Hindsight
  • Conduct constant market/trend research and develop expertise in consumer insights platforms to support Director of Brand Merchandising in seasonal trend download meetings and in identifying new growth opportunities for our business channels
  • Responsible for collaboratively problem-solving and recording all pre-costing/costing discussions and recapping Director of major takeaways. Will also need to identify and recommend additional shared style opportunities between business channels.
  • Responsible for contributing in aesthetic fittings based on sales insights and recapping Director of major takeaways
  • Process sample tracking/management during key seasonal set up times
  • Partner with WS counterparts on seasonal assortments, hindsight, business strategies and market showroom set up
  • Partner with EU Menswear and Retail divisions to gain insight on seasonal collection structure
  • Manage Intern seasonally (4 times a year)Manage special projects for NA-based collaborations
    • Day to day tasks, sample management, assigning special business projects
  • Download NA merchandising and design teams on EU design direction through seasonal GAM (Global Alignment Meeting) recap presentations
  • Support Director in product group deep dives to support both business channels

 

Qualifications:

  • College degree
  • 3+ years of experience in fashion merchandising.  Wholesale and retail vertical product development experience strongly preferred 
  • Previous experience in Merchandising, Buying, Product Development is strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work cross functionally, building strong relationships between various departments
  • The Associate Brand Merchant must demonstrate a solid understanding of fashion trends and provide input to design relative to channel needs while also maintaining focus on the financial targets of the TH wholesale and retail financial targets
  • Highly collaborative, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment
