Assistant Technical Designer

Jenny Yoo Collection, one of the leading Bridal/Bridesmaid/Special Occasion dress manufacturer is seeking a highly organized and motivated Assistant Technical Designer to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate possesses strong verbal and written communication and should be knowledgeable of garment construction.

Additional requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Design or related field, at least 1-2 years of experience, with an emphasis on dresses.

Responsibilities: 

• Prepare fit samples in fit sessions .
• Assist senior staff in fit sessions on a live model, take detailed notes, etc.
• Spec Samples and check construction/trims
• Assist in creating of accurate fit comments 
• Review and compare fit samples to past comments to ensure corrections were made.
• Assist in the creating of tech packs including measurements, grading and construction details to sent to factories 
• Follow up with factories to make sure we receive approvals/samples in timely manner.
• Communicate effectively with design department 
• Maintains and inputs data entry
• Distribute received packages and prepare send-out packages to factories
• Inspect all shipment samples and conduct quality control on bulk shipments when needed at our local warehouse

Requirements: 

• At least 3 years related experience
• Computer proficiency with; Outlook, Excel, Illustrator and PLM
• Technical experience- understands how to measure garments and the terminology
• Some garment construction knowledge
• Positive, proactive and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
• Highly organized with a meticulous attention to detail
• Sewing skills; ability to work basic sewing/pressing equipment
• Minimum of 2-3 year working working in womens apparel
