Responsibilities

The assistant Technical Designer is responsible for assisting the design team in all aspects of the design process and provide support as needed. He or she will be responsible for working with the design and Product Development teams to meet deadlines for creating and passing product specs for all stages of development - concept through production.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working with the design and pd teams to meet deadlines for creating and passing product specs for all stages of development - concept through production. these deadlines may fluctuate due to timing and include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • 1st proto request - work collaboratively with the designer to ensure that all specs created reflect the intentions of that designer
  • Market pass off - assist in handbag spec updates and corrections for that season, as well as, assist the tech designer in managing the product through production ensuring that all and any changes to the product after market are approved by the design team
  • Assist in making sure that product specs are consistent across all factories and all seasons
  • Assist in the review and correction of pre production samples
  • Support organization & maintenance of samples & materials

Qualifications

 

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Construction knowledge preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience

  • College degree in fashion design or a related field

  • Ilustrator and photoshop experience required
  • Basic knowledge of microsoft excel preferred
