ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER - The Village Westfield Topanga (Woodland Hills, CA)
The nation’s largest specialty retailer of fashion swimwear is looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual to drive profitable sales and engage a team of sales associates. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in fashion/swimwear, a background in retail, a positive attitude and ability to build and maintain relationships.

JOB TITLE: Assistant Store Manager
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Store Manager is charged with supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day aspect of store operations, including sales, staff, and inventory management. In this role, you will be challenged to collaborate and engage your associates while driving a service-driven culture.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:
- High School diploma or higher
- 5-7 years of experience in retail sales
- Open availability
- Ability to engage and inspire associates
- Strong customer focus
- Strong merchandising skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage the functions listed in the Associate job descriptions
- Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in English
- Ability to comprehend and analyze retail trends
- Ability to supervise and train for the use of equipment, tools
- Understanding of company policies/procedures and brand requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand and support store operations, policies and procedures
- Oversee preparation of necessary reports and paperwork
- Assist in creating a customize swim wardrobe for all customers; familiar with all fits
- Routinely promotes and champions all swim and accessory designers
- Encourages high standards of selling and conversion percentage
- Assist in maintaining staffing levels consistent with business needs to ensure excellent customer service (Includes assisting with recruiting, hiring and training associates)
- Ensure adequate shift coverage and scheduling to business needs
- Develop Associates to Key Holder or Assistant Store Manager readiness
- Communicate with Store Manager to ensure proper flow of information
- Execute on tasks to ensure the stores are clean, adequately stocked, organized, well- kept and priced correctly
- Help to resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Promote safe and secure culture in store
- Help to build a culture of collaboration and accountability

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift. Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.
