ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER - The Village Westfield Topanga (Woodland Hills, CA)

The nation’s largest specialty retailer of fashion swimwear is looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual to drive profitable sales and engage a team of sales associates. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in fashion/swimwear, a background in retail, a positive attitude and ability to build and maintain relationships.  

 

REPORTS TO: Store Manager

JOB TITLE: Assistant Store Manager

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Assistant Store Manager is charged with supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day aspect of store operations, including sales, staff, and inventory management.   In this role, you will be challenged to collaborate and engage your associates while driving a service-driven culture. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

  • High School diploma or higher
  • 5-7 years of experience in retail sales
  • Open availability
  • Ability to engage and inspire associates
  • Strong customer focus
  • Strong merchandising skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage the functions listed in the Associate job descriptions
  • Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in English
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze retail trends
  • Ability to supervise and train for the use of equipment, tools
  • Understanding of company policies/procedures and brand requirements

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and support store operations, policies and procedures
  • Oversee preparation of necessary reports and paperwork
  • Assist in creating a customize swim wardrobe for all customers; familiar with all fits
  • Routinely promotes and champions all swim and accessory designers
  • Encourages high standards of selling and conversion percentage
  • Assist in maintaining staffing levels consistent with business needs to ensure excellent customer service (Includes assisting with recruiting, hiring and training associates)
  • Ensure adequate shift coverage and scheduling to business needs
  • Develop Associates to Key Holder or Assistant Store Manager readiness
  • Communicate with Store Manager to ensure proper flow of information
  • Execute on tasks to ensure the stores are clean, adequately stocked, organized, well- kept and priced correctly
  • Help to resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Promote safe and secure culture in store
  • Help to build a culture of collaboration and accountability

 

LEADERSHIP CRITERIA:

  • Demonstrates clear understanding of daily and monthly sales goals
  • Encourages and models teamwork
  • Ability to develop people
  • Ability to work with minimum direction and supervision

 

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.  Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.
