ASSISTANT PRODUCT MANAGER - FABRIC DEVELOPMENT

General Summary:

The Assistant Product Manager – Fabric Development, supports the development and production of fabric needs across various divisions. This position tracks the development and production process, communicates relevant information to vendors and cross functional partners, and maintains in-house libraries.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support Product Manager-Fabric to facilitate corporate fabric standard settings for bulk production of knits and wovens.
  • Assist in sourcing and developing fabrics and washes to meet design team’s seasonal vision, merchandising requirements, and Company goals.
  • Maintain and organize core fabric library and build seasonal material archives.
  • Conduct appropriate follow up with internal and external partners on approvals and production issues to ensure achievement of the product development calendar.
  • Track and log all incoming and outgoing swatches, comments, and approvals.
  • Collect and check fabric specification sheets for accuracy and highlight any concerns.
  • Daily communication with overseas and domestic suppliers to facilitate deliverables in timely manner.
  • Set up fabric codes and maintain content, construction, weight and price data in PLM system.
  • Manages other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience. 1+ year experience in Product Development or Textiles preferred.
  • Basic understanding of the product development and approval process.
  • General knowledge of fabric construction, fibers, printing, and dye methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point, experience in PLM a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities.
  • Understands and has a passion for current fashion trends and youth lifestyle brand markets.
