ASSISTANT MERCHANDISER FOR DESIGN

General Overview: The ideal candidate will also be eager to learn, be able to multi-task, and be willing to go above and beyond (including working late hours during market prep times and when needed). Other skills that would be helpful are strong computer and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with VP of Merchandising on all aspects of line creation and maintenance
• Utilize BMS system to update: prices, material contents, colors, purchase quantities
• Work closely on IT Systems to create and maintain accuracy of line sheets for Market
• Update line sheets for Elie Tahari collection and collection special cuts
• Utilize systems to pull analytical data
• Maintain master book of all changes pertaining to this division
• Work on selling analysis including weekly distribution of selling
• Close follow through on style changes with tech and production teams
• Work closely with Photolab to insure all photographs are completed for market
• Work closely with PR, Marketing and Sales on catalog copy and samples
• Handle administrative duties during market prep/crunch time

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• 2-4-year experience
• Bachelors Degree, ideally in Fashion Merchandising or Business related field
• Industry related internships and experience
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Enthusiasm and high energy
• Team Oriented
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to learn new systems quickly
• High taste level, eye for product
